The Shark FlexStyle hair tool works for all different hair types. Here’s proof

We can’t change our hair type, but we can make it look its best with the right hair tools. We found four women with varying hair types and textures to test this theory using the Shark FlexStyle®. And the results? You be the judge...

Content Creator Aki Curtis

In a bid to get Aki’s straight hair as sleek as possible, hair stylist Robyn opted to use Shark FlexStyle’s Styling Concentrator. This attachment was used with the hair drying function, and smoothed Aki’s hair into a luxe bob.

Aki wears: Aje ‘Nova’ pleated midi dress, $720.

Styling Concentrator

Best for: Straight.

Results it promises: Want straight hair? Then the Styling Concentrator is the attachment for you. With a rotatable nozzle for easy styling, you can effortlessly perfect your hairstyle as the concentrator works to straighten your hair. Plus, its targeted airflow and precise styling ensures a sleek and smooth finish every time for salon-quality results at home.

Auto-Wrap Curlers

Best for: Waves.

Results it promises: The Shark FlexStyle Styling Auto-Wrap Curler easily attaches and automatically wraps, curls, and sets your hair with Coanda technology. And make a note that you get two of these, each with an arrow directing you which way the air will flow. As a rule of thumb direct the air/hair away from your face. The result? Hassle-free waves in seconds

Model Omari Vigille

Hair stylist Robyn styled Omari’s naturally coily hair using the Shark FlexStyle’s Curl-Defining Diffuser attachment. Perfect for coiled hair, it’s been purposefully designed to lift and define natural curls, with extendable prongs to reach and lift roots.

Omari wears: Zoe & Morgan ‘Devi’ earrings, $164, and Maggie Marilyn ‘Cocos’ oversized shirt, $595.

Oval Brush

Best for: Volume.

Results it promises: When you’re looking for a glam blowout sans the hairdresser, this is your best bet. The Oval Brush dries as it styles, not only providing added volume and bounce but also shine. To build maximum volume, place the round brush under your hair and as close to the roots as possible, then roll the brush up and outwards, tucking it under at the ends.

Stylist Sarah Stuart

To enhance Sarah’s natural waves, Robyn styled her hair with the Shark FlexStyle’s Paddle Brush attachment. This worked to smooth the hair while maintaining a wave.

Sarah wears: Zoe & Morgan ‘One of a Kind 426’ earrings, $9400.

Paddle Brush

Best for: Smoothing.

Results it promises: When attached to the Shark FlexStyle this paddle brush utilises its powerful airflow to straighten and smooth your hair — fast. The smoothing boar and nylon bristles work to grab and smooth the hair, while also combing and detangling. It’s the multitasking attachment we all need in our lives and is the perfect partner to your slick bob.

Actress Tomai Ihaia

Robyn also used the Shark FlexStyle’s Curl-Defining Diffuser attachment for Tomai’s naturally curly hair, which lifted and defined each curl from the root to the tip.

Tomai wears: American Vintage ‘Vitow’ cardigan, $349, from Superette.

Curl-Defining Diffuser

Best for: Curls.

Results it promises: This attachment will work with your curls, and not against them. Simply attach this Curl-Defining Diffuser to the Shark FlexStyle for fast, even drying from root to tip. Retractable and extendable prongs have been developed to enable curl perfection. Retract prongs for shorter, finer hair or extend prongs for longer, thicker hair.
