Late-night phone calls to the wedding planner, secret meetings with the Queen and planning one massive party.

Prince Harry’s fiancée has pretty much cleared her diary to plan the couple’s wedding, together with her best friend and de facto wedding planner, Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney. According to one of their mutual friends, they are on the phone “every day, often late into the night, ticking things off in their never-ending to-do list.”

The actress has also been zooming down the M4 in recent weeks to have meetings at Windsor Castle with the Queen and her team of in-house staff, who are helping to coordinate the wedding.

The Queen and Prince Charles will host a traditional wedding breakfast at St George’s Hall but have had very little to do with the couple’s guest lists. “Meghan and Harry have been told to invite who they want; there is no pressure on them to have extended family friends or dignitaries and VIPs,” adds a royal source.

Harry’s ‘Glosse Posse’ pals have all secured invites, among them Tom Inskip and Guy Pelly. He has also asked some of his Army pals and friends from the Invictus Games and Walking With The Wounded. Sir Elton John, Ellie Goulding and the Beckhams have also received invites.

Meghan’s guest list will likely include her Suits co-stars Patrick J Adams, Sarah Rafferty and Wendell Pierce. Along with the Mulroneys, Canada’s elite will be coming in the form of PM Justin Trudeau and his wife. And, of course, the trio who played Cupid: Violet von Westenholz, Markus Anderson and Misha Nonoo.

As well as drink and food tastings at the palace, Meghan and Harry, 33, will have sample cakes courtesy of Violet Bakery’s Claire Ptak, who has been commissioned to make the unusual elderflower and lemon wedding cake for the reception.

The couple’s evening reception will, according to one of their friends, be the “most fun part of the day.” “Harry wants to make sure it’s a night to remember – fun over formality. The plan is for it to continue until the early hours,” says the friend.

It will take place in a marquee in the grounds of Frogmore House and the couple’s wedding planners, Table Talk, are overseeing the “themed production.” Harry is rumoured to have booked Stormzy, while the Spice Girls are rumoured to be performing a set on the night.

Meghan is also ensuring she looks incredible for both the wedding and the honeymoon – reportedly a luxury stay in Namibia. As well as having bespoke muscle-sculpting facials with Nichola Joss, Meghan is rumoured to be using the services of the Duchess of Cornwall’s colourist at Jo Hansford. She has also been doing daily yoga sessions at Kensington Palace and classes at the Skinny Bitch Collective with close friend Millie Mackintosh. Stay tuned for more updates as the weeks fly by.
