Have you ever wondered how to transform your wardrobe from spring into summer and navigate the awkward weather days in between?
Rickie Dee, style maven and co-founder of fashion & lifestyle destination Superette, knows a thing or two about dressing through the seasons. We asked Rickie for her five top trans-seasonal wardrobe tips, and they’re sure to have you well-dressed for any occasion.
1. Boost your mood with a pop of colour
Adding a bit of colour to my outfit each day is helping me get through lockdown. We love bright pops of green at Superette, and as we move into the spring/summer season, we’re seeing exciting new pop colours coming through.
2. Layer up with a cardi
Cardigans are having a moment and are always a great addition to your everyday wardrobe. They’re perfect for layering over a strappy tank and paired with light denim shorts or jeans.
3. Add an oversized shirt
Oversized shirting is another big trend at the moment. They look great when worn loose and paired with a pair of pants or jeans. To complete the look, add a chunky gold necklace, a bold pair of sunglasses and/or a pair of heels to elevate your look instantly. In fact, an oversized shirt is a go-to in any season.
4. Feminine dresses are making a comeback
Excitingly, we’re starting to see flowing and voluminous dress shapes coming into the mix this season. The babydoll shift dress is back and perfect for that feminine daytime summer look. We also love bias-cut slip dresses for a sleek and sophisticated feel. Pair with an elevated pair of slides, and you’re good to go.
5. Classic gold jewellery works with any outfit
We’re seeing the return of classic jewellery styles like hoop earrings, herringbone necklaces and chain necklaces. These pieces always look great by themselves or layered together. They are styles you’ll find yourself wearing time and time again. I love to see these pieces worn with a slick bun for a sophisticated and resort feel.
