If you're in need of a new evening scent and partial to sensual, woody florals, you're going to want to add this one to the top of your list.

Perfumers Dora Baghriche (senior), Marie Salamange (principal), and Alberto Morillas (master) comment on the 2023 iteration of the celebrated scent and what to expect.

What FAME story does this new FAME Parfum unfold?

Dora Baghriche: FAME is all about avant-garde and powerful femininity, carried by notes of chypré incense, turned suave by juicy, gourmand mango. A fragrance at once futuristic with its combination of rare, exotic notes, and a touch retro-chic with its chypre inspired by the history of the brand’s foundation.

FAME Parfum is even more intense and unveils a nocturnal version of FAME. It reveals a more mineral, woody and musky scent that brings a deep sensual touch to the skin. The addictive effect is more carnal, the temptation more profound. FAME Parfum focuses on the chic of oakmoss, reinforced by a new trio of jasmine – the most sensual and precious flowers – which brings out all the complexity of this white star, and a mysterious, long-lasting woody-musky trail.

In olafactory terms, how you define the FAME Parfum signature?

Marie Salamagne: FAME Parfum is a chypre, woody, floral fragrance, where FAME EDP is chypre, floral, fruity. FAME Parfum exudes a richer, more woody, mineral sensuality than its predecessor, driven by a powerful mineral musk trail that deepens the sandalwood note, and which is surrounded by the earthy note of moss, the balmy inflections of benzoin and the mysterious minerality of incense. It is such an elegant and rich signature.

Inspired by Rabanne’s legendary couture codes and unforgettable chainmail dress, FAME Parfum gets dressed in a seductive new object of desire. As precious as jewellery; as iconic as ever: the signature golden tone of FAME gets styled with a glossy back dress to match the intensity of the champagne gold fragrance inside.

Can you tell us more about the jasmine trio?

Dora Baghriche: We started to work and play with the complementarity of ingredient quality with the trio of incense for Fame. As it works quite well, we chose a trio of jasmine for FAME Parfum, playing with the Jasmin microliquid, absolute of Jasmine sambac and the absolute of Jasmine grandiflorum Egypt.

Alberto Morillas: Of course, we kept the Jasmin microliquid from Grasse, which is an avant-premiere for Rabanne, and which is the extract closest to the smell of fresh jasmine, as you can smell it in the fields. We added contrast with an Absolute of Jasmine Sambac India, with its luminous, fruity and green nuances, which has an orange blossom facet but also a darker, animalic character. Finally, we’ve reinforced this darker dimension with an Absolute of Jasmine Grandiflorum Egypt, which is softer, a little suave and lactonic, very powerful, animalic and carnal.

In your opinion, who is the FAME parfum woman?

Marie Salamagne: Where I saw the FAME woman as radiant, I see the FAME Parfum woman as multifaceted as before, but with a new empowerment, super strong and full of confidence!

Dora Baghriche: As women, we’ve always wanted to approach this project with a sense of empowerment and inclusivity. I’d say that where the FAME woman conquers the world with a smile, the FAME Parfum woman doesn’t hesitate to fight. Darker, more bewitching and mysterious, she’s a true femme-fatale.
