Need some wine-spiration this summer? These delicious whites and rosés are sure to bring the outdoor party vibes.

Produced in partnership with Laithwaites.

For the most stylish of summer soirées, make sure to add some chilled wines to the menu, served straight out of the fridge or ice bucket.

Here are seven delicious varietals from our friends at Laithwaites Wine that will keep your guests cool and refreshed all night long. Cheers!

1. Yarrunga Field Special Reserve White

New South Wales

Yarrunga Field is as much “Aussie sunshine in a glass” (Oz Clarke/Jilly Goolden) as it was when first launched some 20 years ago. The 2021 exudes fruitiness, freshness and intensity in perfect measure. Serve well-chilled solo or with a delicious stir-fry.

2. Long Live The King Pinot Grigio

New South Wales

Here’s a Pinot Grigio in an exuberant, fruity mode. If you like the northern Italian versions, winemaking maestro Bill Calabria has made a crisp and ripe Australian version. It’s ultra-fresh and lemony, with a touch more juicy apple and pear.

3. Farinelli Bianco NV

Abruzzo, Italy

This crisp, racy white is from Italy’s Abruzzo region, on the Adriatic coast. There, plentiful sunshine and sea breezes ripen grapes to perfection and produce quality wines. The Farinelli Bianco is a refreshing, bright and citrusy drop.

4. Citrus & Vine Chenin Blanc

Western Cape, South Africa

A dazzling, fresh South African white from a highly awarded family property, Chenin Blanc is a speciality of the Cape. A high quality, cooler vintage, the Citrus & Vine Chenin Blanc is deliciously intense with brilliant guava and lemon fruit.

5. Zonte’s Footstep Scarlet Ladybird Rosé

Fleurieu, South Australia

Comprised of Grenache, Cabernet and Shiraz, this perky pink is scarlet red in colour with notes of dark cherry, milk chocolate and summer berries, rounded out by a textural, mouth-filling finish. Great served with fresh prawns or Greek lamb salad.

6. Patronus The Doe Rosé

South Australia

‘The Doe’ is a rip-snorting South Australian Rosé full of flavour and kick. Its ripe, berry fruit, and zesty dry finish makes it a great lunchtime wine when a red is too much (at least to start!), and a white just doesn’t cut it.

7. Miles From Nowhere Rosé

Margaret River

Think lifted aromas of spring and summer red fruits — raspberries, strawberries, and cherries with hints of rose petal and Turkish delight. The palate is rich with flavours of maraschino cherries, balanced with delicate hints of rose water.
