Potatoes? Brow shape? Exercise? huh? Olivia Munn explains why and how her skin dramatically changed.
The images caught our attention, but then Olivia Munn stated via instagram – “Who says guys are the only ones who can get better with age?”. We were listening.
Olivia Munn wrote this alongside comparative pictures of herself, a year ago and now. “We’re gonna turn that myth around if we share what we learn with each other.” Atta girl.
So she went ahead and shared, explained and revealed how and why her skin looks so different in the two photographs.
In the interesting read, the Hollywood actress puts her youthfulness down to four key things:
1. EXERCISE
In the after picture Olivia is 12 pounds lighter, having worked out consistently for her X-Men role. She says the weight loss not only leaned out her cheeks and jawline (who needs contouring?), but that “working out is also great for your skin because it increases blood flow to your face which helps rejuvenate.” Trust her – it’s the ultimate anti-ager.
2. RE-ANGLING HER BROWS
We all know the face-structuring power of having your brows professionally shaped, and Olivia honed hers to perfection after “a facialist pointed out to me that I was shaping my brows into a frown”. So in place of her high arches she let the top of her brows grow in, making them more elongated in shaped.
3. USING A DAILY DARK SPOT TREATMENT
While Olivia said she loves her freckles, she didn’t love her sunspots. “Dark spots prevent your skin from reflecting light and gives you a dull complexion. So for the past year I’ve been diligently using @Proactiv Mark Fading Pads. I wipe my face with one every night and now my face has a more even tone and the large spots aren’t as noticeable.” This appears to be the most noticeable difference between the two pictures, so we’re trusting that this is all genuine and she wasn’t being paid by ProActiv.
4. EATING JAPANESES POTATOES
She says eating Japanese potatoes that are high in Hyaluronic Acid help “keep wrinkles away”. We all know that this hydrating molecule, capable of absorbing up to 1000 times its weight in water, is the ultimate skin plumper, but while it’s found in endless beautifying forms, Olivia thinks that “the best way to get it in your system is by eating them in foods that naturally have them”. PLUS – spuds are carbs. We thank you.
