If there’s one date in the calendar the entire FQ team will circle, earmark and star in their diaries without fail each year, it’s New Zealand Fashion Week.

This is pretty much as good as it gets when it comes to all things NZ fashion, with our favourite fashion designers, creatives and industry insiders getting together to celebrate the best this country has to offer and to preview the winter 2017 collections that will arrive in stores early next year.

And what they have to offer this year is more exciting than ever.

We are thrilled to confirm the full list of designers who will be showing at NZFW 2016:

Along with veterans such as Huffer, Hailwood, Stolen Girlfriends Club, and twenty-seven names who don’t just bring the fashion (they also bring the party), there’s the new crop of stars who are causing a sensation both here and abroad; including design duo Harman Grubiša, the recipient of the ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ accolade this year; Lucilla Gray, whose debut at last year’s fashion week solidified her as one-to-watch; and Wynn Hamlyn, another 2015 NZFW newbie who is sure to impress yet again with his polished, contemporary designs.

There’s a particularly strong line-up of new generation designers who are poised to take the industry by storm – so many, in fact, that it requires two New Generation shows this year rather than one.

The Miromoda showcase is back in 2016, with talented designers of Maori heritage – including 2016 Supreme Winners of the Miromoda Fashion Design Competition, Wanoa Four – showcasing their work on the national stage.

The Fashion Lunch is where you will want to be come Friday, with Kate Sylvester, Hailwood, Ruby, Juliette Hogan, Trelise Cooper, Liam, Kneufermann and Adrienne Winkelmann closing out the week in style.

The fashion doesn’t end there though. At NZ Fashion Weekend we see the return of WORLD, who never fails to wow with true one-of-a-kind creativity; Trelise Cooper will present her Spring Summer collection (and your shopping list is bound to get a whole lot bigger); and streetwear label Federation also makes a welcome comeback.

One show you won’t want to miss? The Fashion Quarterly Presents show at NZ Fashion Weekend, in association with Auckland’s premier shopping precinct, Newmarket. Visit iticket.co.nz to snap up your seats now and catch some of your favourite designers up close and personal in runway-to-real-life looks styled by FQ’s editor Sally-Ann Mullin (the show sold out in 2015, so don’t dilly dally!)
