L’Eau d’Issey Eau&Magnolia

The exuberance of spring comes to life in one spritz of Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Eau&Magnolia (50ml EDT, $155). With its oh-so-delicate, breathtaking floral notes — rose, neroli, magnolia — this is a fragrance you’ll reach for day after day. Not only is Eau&Magnolia a delightful scent that embodies spring; it is also a step towards a mindful future of fragrance. The iconic L’Eau d’Issey bottle is created from 20 per cent post-consumer glass, the scent is vegan, and 85 per cent of ingredients are naturally derived and ethically sourced where possible.

Dior J’adore Parfum D’Eau

One of the world’s most-loved scents, Dior J’adore, is reimagined in a novel way this season. Legendary perfumer François Demachy has done the unimaginable and reinterpreted the iconic scent using just water and flowers. The sans-alcohol Dior
J’adore Parfum D’Eau (100ml EDP, $312) is as concentrated and as mesmerising as its predecessors. Chinese magnolia, jasmine, sensual rose, and a touch of honeysuckle will whisk you away to the blooming flower fields of Grasse in an instant.

Ellis Brooklyn Sun Fruit

Bee Shapiro, founder of Ellis Brooklyn, takes a thoughtful approach to scent. Staying true to her mindful ethos, Sun Fruit (50ml EDP, $179, from MECCA) is free of parabens and phthalates, is vegan, and is cruelty-free. The fragrance also has an AAA rating from EcoScent Compass, which means social and environmental impacts have been prioritised. With hints of fresh fig, bergamot, jasmine, and vanilla, this is a joyful fruity-floral fragrance that’s bound to become a new go-to.

Matiere Premiere French Flower

Grasse native Aurélian Guichard did things a little differently when he launched fragrance house Matiere Premiere. Along with his family, Guichard founded his own organic — and Ecocert-certified — Rosa centifolia farm. Inspired by the bewitching smell of a tuberose field at night, French Flower (100ml EDP, $399, from WORLD) continues his vision, using tuberoses that have been organically grown by Matiere Premiere. The white floral is accompanied by ginger, Chinese tea leaf, and green pear.

Narciso Rodriguez Eau de Parfum Cristal

Narciso Rodriguez Eau de Parfum Cristal (30ml EDP, $124) is the beginning of new chapter for the fragrance house. Natalie Gracia-Cetto, the nose behind the scent, shuns traditional notes in favour of environmentally sound, ethically sourced ingredients. She also employs an upcycling process that recovers olfactive components from distillation
water to create the scent’s floral rose note.
