It’s not very often that we’ll make a call as big as this but every now and then a product comes on the market that we deem a ‘miracle’ product. The Beautyblender is one of those products.

If you still don’t know what a ‘Beautyblender’ is, it’s a makeup sponge best used damp for applying liquid foundation.

Loved by amateur pros (you know, the girls who would the challenge a qualified MUA on who can do a cut crease better) and celebrity beauty obsessives alike, the Beautyblender is a modern makeup kit staple and a 21st century cult product.

Here are 6 surprising new uses for your Beautyblender, other than applying foundation…

  1. Mistake eraser
Don’t you just hate it when you apply too much blush? It’s the sort of faux pas to make you consider re-doing your entire face, right? Wrong. Chill out. Don’t panic. Your Beautyblender is actually ideal for fixing a makeup mishap like this. Just use a dry sponge to buff away the excess product by dragging it slightly and gently lifting the overloaded product off your face. Phew…
  2. Bake, baby, bake
Did you know you can use a damp Beautyblender to pick up loose powder and set your foundation rather than a brush? Many beauty vloggers also swear by ‘baking’ which is when you dust a layer of loose translucent powder under your eyes to set your concealer. Leave it for around 10 minutes while you apply the rest of your makeup and then brush off to reveal a crease-free under-eye area.
  3. Apply sunscreen
Even out your SPF distribution by using your beauty blender to apply your sunscreen. This will ensure you don’t miss any spots and won’t end up with blotchy sunburn!
  4. Fake tan on fleek
Don’t get your hands streaky; use a Beautyblender to apply your self-tanner evenly on your face. Use the Pro (black) version so you don’t see the fake tan stains!
  5. Skincare saver
Got sensitive skin? No worries! The Pure Beautyblender (aka the white one) is dye-free so is ideal for sensitive skin. Using your damp Beautyblender to apply your moisturiser, serum or eye cream is a gentle and relaxing process too.
  6. Perfect your highlight
Scared of liquid highlighters? Don’t be. Dab your sponge into the product, and stipple the excess onto the back of your hand before flawlessly applying to your cheek bones, bridge of your nose and cupid’s bow.
