Damin Radford-Scott No Fixed Abode

Hey, New Plymouth friends (we know there are a few of you!)

Our friend Damin Radford-Scott, who we collaborated with on the ‘Wet Paint’ shoot in our summer issue, has a solo exhibition opening in New Plymouth this Saturday December 19 at 19.19, and we think you should head along.

Entitled No Fixed Abode, the exhibition features all original artworks by Damin under his artist’s persona ‘Milarky’, and has been described by the artist himself as an exploration of nomadism.

Says Damin (who, since splitting off from art duo BMD, now also paints as ‘D-side’),  “being a full-time artist ain’t glorious. I’ve moved past or perhaps tricked myself into not needing most things; a place to live, any kind of reliable sleep, more than often food, and maintaining activities other than my two art practices.”

Damin is adamant though that he wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I don’t work 9 to 5, I’m never not working. I can’t escape this constant path of creating. But I wouldn’t want to.”

No Fixed Abode has a temporary abode at 91 Devon Street West, New Plymouth, and all artworks are available to purchase.
