In this new fortnightly series, we ask friends of Miss FQ to dish the details of their dream weekends. First up? Blogger Madeleine Walker from The Twenties Club.
5pm Friday! Time for a rosé at 46 & York with the girls, followed by takeaway snapper sashimi from Gion which I’ll probably eat while watching (the other) Girls in bed.
Come Saturday morning you’ll find me at a Barrefigure barre class, and then I’ll treat myself to a mini shopping spree at Lonely where I’ve been eyeing up the Winona lingerie collection and everything marigold.
A coffee from Eightthirty in Ponsonby Central will definitely be in order, and then I’ll head home to get ready for my evening. After beautifying myself with MAC Goldlite Strobe Cream and taming the brows with Stila Stay All Day Brown Pen…
…I’ll throw on my Paris Georgia ‘Marnie’ pants, Love & Object vintage hoops, and head out to dinner at Café Hanoi where I can never resist the smoked eggplant. After dinner I’ll skip the clubs and go dancing in my best friend’s basement with all my friends, singing tunelessly to Amy Winehouse.
Sunday brunch will be at Catroux — the usual combo of scrambled eggs and Midnight Baker ‘Freedom’ toast with a coffee strong enough to chew — and then I’ll take my beloved dog, George, to Meola Reef Dog Park, where he will embarrass me on more than one occasion and I’ll pretend I don’t know him.
Sunday is all about self-care, so I’ll put on a Girl Undiscovered face mask while I tidy my room, followed by the Girl Undiscovered Elixir Oil which always makes me feel calm.
Finally in bed, I’ll catch up on my latest book, ‘On The Road’ by Jack Kerouac, browse through Man Repeller, Business of Fashion and CNN (because life is all about balance) and then phone down, lights out, perfect weekend done!
