Framed with vibrant wildflowers, the new Mulberry store exuded the charm of the British countryside, as Fashion Quarterly approached its entrance. Located in the luxury precinct of Westfield Newmarket, Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland, the store has been well thought out and perfectly placed amongst other international designer boutiques.
Inside, our eyes gravitated towards what they’re known best for – their bags. Their latest addition, the Lana, a sleek silhouette with a structured upright handle and statement hardware immediately caught our attention. But it was hard to stay in one place. With their offerings positioned around the entire space (a space furnished with plush velvet seating in jewel tones) bags draw you in as you walk around. Let’s just say, we were like kids in a candy shop, flitting around to see what other arm candy we could try on.
Known for their classic handbags, clothing and accessories, Mulberry’s leather goods are timeless. And while some feel sleek and new, others retain their classic identity and heritage element. Another favourite we spied was their classic Bayswater in oak. This is the pick for any woman on the go who needs to fit her laptop, keys, lipstick – and the kitchen sink – in there.
It’s clear Mulberry’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship continues to enchant not only us at Fashion Quarterly, but fashion enthusiasts worldwide. We’ll definitely be back with our credit card in tow…
