Barely-there shine

Step aside no-makeup-makeup, according to Pinterest, users are searching ‘barely-there shine’ +343 percent compared to this time last year. That sought-after glow that once belonged to expectant mothers and health gurus has been made accessible with beauty brands expanding their range of cream highlighters and bronzers. Next stop: radiance.

Our beauty editor recommends:  L’Oreal Paris Wake Up And Glow Mon Amour Highlighting Drops, $30.99; Inika Certified Organic Cream Illuminisor, $49; Hourglass Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick, $67

Natural makeup

Just when you’d mastered the matte, it seems dewy, moisturising foundations are beauty-lovers’ preference with ‘natural makeup’ ideas experiencing a 55 percent spike in saves since last year. To achieve that fresh, healthy base, look for foundations that blend easily and can be built upon for a natural texture – and conceal sparingly.  Fashion Quarterly’s beauty editor Megan Bedford suggests formulas with an SPF to prevent sun damage that can weaken the pores’ structure and leave them bigger.

For foundations that leave you with a satin-finish, our beauty editor recommends MAC Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation, $54; Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation, $70; Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup, $65.

Cream blush

Put that powder down. Cream blush is what rosy cheeks are made of with blendable, buildable and hydrating formulas emerging as Pinterest users’ optimum. Saves are up 196 percent on last year, and beauty brands have responded. Use on the apples of cheeks for the perfect finishing touch to a contoured or highlighted look.

Our beauty editor recommends: Revlon Insta-Blush, $35; Shiseido Minimalist WhippedPowder Blush, $50; NARS The Multiple, $32
