Taking advice from the best!
With all eyes on Meghan Markle as the newest member of the royal family, it’s unsurprising that she’s started seeking sartorial advice in order to silence her fashion critics.
The former Suits star has been winning plaudits for her recent looks – including an Alexander McQueen tuxedo – and we might have Victoria Beckham to thank for it. Apparently Meghan has turned to the Spice-Girl-turned-fashion-designer for help, after the two struck up a friendship last year.
“They get along well and have been in touch recently,” a source close to the Beckhams told Vanity Fair’s Royal Watch. “Meghan really likes Victoria’s style and was keen to pick her brains about pulling together a working wardrobe. She loves Victoria’s elegant but smart dresses, so expect her to wear one very soon.”
The stylish twosome first bonded over a shared love of the facialist Sarah Chapman, who Victoria introduced Meghan to when she moved to London. Meghan returned the favour by choosing a Victoria Beckham sweater for her official engagement portrait – one which promptly sold out.
“Victoria’s quite proud of the fact that she and Meghan have become chummy and seems to want people to know they are friends,” said the source. “Of course, if Meghan wears one of her outfits it will be great for business.”
The Beckhams will likely be on the guest list for the royal wedding in May, as Prince Harry is also friendly with David. The couple were also in attendance at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s nuptials in 2011. Sadly it’s unlikely that Meghan will walk down the aisle in VB, as the designer doesn’t make bridal wear (except for pal Eva Longoria, who she created a custom dress for).
