Like you needed another reason to love beauty vlogger Manny MUA, right?!

Following in the ground-breaking footsteps of Covergirl, Maybelline New York have broken down barrier for male makeup lovers around the globe by teaming up with YouTube sensation Manny Gutierrez, or Manny MUA as his fans refer to him as.

Along with blogger Shayla Mitchell, Manny, who boasts over 2 million subscribers on YouTube alone, stars in Maybelline New York’s Big Shot Mascara video campaign which he says he is “honored” and “thrilled” about.

Maybelline’s senior vice president of marketing, Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle talked about the cosmetic company’s modern move in a press release, saying:

“We’re so excited to team up with Manny and Shayla, who are true leading influencers in the social media world, on our first ever video campaign that features influencers as the stars. The duo’s boss-like personalities, in which they unapologetically slay both their makeup looks and their professional lives, made them a perfect fit for the role.”

The modern move comes a few months after Covergirl made the first move, getting ‘beauty boy’ James Charles on board as their first male spokesmodel. You know, that guy who took his own ring light (aka the selfie light of your dreams) along to his senior photos so his highlighter would be “poppin'” and consequently went viral.

Here’s hoping that brands continue to approach beauty as being genderless and that this isn’t just a passing trend.

You glow, girl… and boy!
