With a nod to the 70s, coral is the colour trend you need to be wearing come beach or barbecue.
Coral signifies summer; it’s fresh, fun and chirpy. “Coral works well on all skintones and is less of a commitment than bright pink or crisp red lips,” says Auckland-based make-up artist Fiona Wright, who suggests opting for a shade that best suits your skin’s undertone.
Think brighter for cool tones and peachier for warm – neutral skintones can go either way. “If the vibrancy of the hue puts you off, opt for a sheer texture on your cheeks and lips,” she adds. Alternatively, dab a coral eyeshadow on the centre of your lids or slick a coat of coral varnish onto your nails for an easy way to inject the colour into your look
Beauty tip: “Get the most out of your favourite coral lippy by dabbing it on your cheeks for an instant skin lift,” says Fiona Wright.
