Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, whose sartorial choices have landed her on many a best dressed list, has been named as a new brand ambassador for makeup house Lancome.

The 31-year-old, who won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award this year for her role in 12 Years A Slave, said she was honoured to represent a company with such a prestigious history.

“I am particularly proud to represent [Lancome’s] unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself,” Nyong’o said.

The Kenyan actress will appear in campaigns for the brand later in the year.
