Namaste

We adore Lucy Slight. She’s the Associate Editor for Nadia magazine, and is a devoted mum to two fur babies named Ziggy and Bowie, who she posts selfies with on the reg. Her ‘Gram showcases her incredible life, from food and yoga, to travel and work – she’s the ultimate all-rounder and total #girlboss goals.

So, we caught up with Lucy ahead of Wanderlust Auckland on April 29, 2017 to find out her must-haves for an Insta-worthy and fun spiritual experience…

Yoga mat & accessories

This goes without saying doesn’t it? It’s a yoga festival! But one of the things I love about Wanderlust is perving on other people’s mats. Nothing beats looking through your legs in a downward dog and being greeted by a colourful geometric print shining brightly behind you. At Wanderlust Great Lake Taupo I discovered an amazing local brand called Yoga Tribe and picked up a handmade Peruvian yoga strap – but their eco yoga mats are totally worth checking out, too.

Colour coordinating skills make up for lack of yogini skills ✌️

Colourful kit

If there’s one time to leave your monochrome lycra at home, it’s Wanderlust. Seriously, at this festival the more outrageous you go with your kit, the better! That’s why I keep a few crazy leggings up my sleeve just for these occasions. Local label Courage My Love does a wicked range of ‘legskins’ with designs created by local Kiwi artists and US label Teeki makes their colourful prints from recycled plastic bottles.

H20 on the go

Wanderlust 108 is a ‘mindful triathlon’, so you know what that means… there’s running involved. Five whole kilometres of it. Hydration, therefore is a must, and if it tastes good – even better! I’ll be chilling a couples of bottles of OVI Hydration in Peach and Citrus in the freezer the night before, in hopes that it’s still ice cold by the time I reach the finish line. OVI has a natural balance of water, sugars and salts, which ensures you get the most out of your spiritual day from go to woe!

An open mind

I’ve been to enough Wanderlusts (make that two) to know that you’ve got to be open to anything and everything. Yes, you’ll have to touch a stranger. You may even have to look them directly in the eyes for five minutes. You might sing ‘Imagine’ while touching the cross-legged knee of the person next to you. And you’ll probably get a sore tummy from too much kombucha. But one thing’s for sure, you’ve just gotta roll with it.

This article was brought to you by OVI Hydration. OVI is the simple addition to your daily routine that makes staying hydrated easy, natural and tasty.
