The newly-released Louis Vuitton Lipstick Case everybody is talking about is taking lip service to a whole new level.
They’re calling it an It bag. ‘It’ being lipstick, because that’s all it was designed to carry.
Given the brand’s history for producing ultra-luxurious leather goods for travel, Vogue Australia says that “Nicolas Ghesquière’s latest design for Louis Vuitton is a serious no brainer.”
While we’re completely in agreement that if you value something you should take measures to protect it, spending the equivalent of $1,810 NZD to protect and carry a lipstick worth less than $100 doesn’t feel all that smart. $30 spent on waterproof spray for your new Chloé suede boots or an $80 case on your $2,399 gold iPhone XS Max – that’s no brainer.
But we get it. It’s pretty f**king cool and you can’t put a price on cool.
The Louis Vuitton Lipstick Case, priced from $1,810 NZD
The portable lipstick case features a trinket-like cylinder vessel befitting of the 1920s, fashioned in the house’s iconic monogram with either gold or silver hardware and chain.
Keepsake your favourite lipstick, gloss, or even your baby teeth, around your neck, across your body or fastened to your handbag handle. The options are virtually endless.
Inside the infamous lipstick case you’ll find a wee mirror for on-the-go touch-ups (see mum, it is practical!) so you can kiss goodbye days wearing lipstick on your teeth and losing your Ruby Woo to the depths of your handbag, bra and pocket. Talk about life changing?
