As the first show out the gate at New Zealand Fashion Week, Knuefermann made a glamorous impression with a collection of sleek, languid dresses and crisp suiting.
The surprising need-to-know accessory? An eye look employing a graphic cat-eye shape, but not like any you’ve tried before! Intense, creative and bold eyeliner – usually in eye-searing orange or cobalt blue – has been a big hit at international fashion weeks lately, but the way MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Kiekie Stanners re-created it in a chic ‘uptown’ way using a tawny brown felt like something we haven’t seen before (and need to try immediately!).
The inspo? “The modern Knuefermann women,” says Stanners. “Polished glowing skin, and a graphic eye in a dirty ochre tone to give her that Parisian chic confidence. High-end elegance with a touch of rock n roll”… Um, sign us up!
How to re-create?
Stanners prepped models skin with luminous moisturiser Strobe cream in Gold lite, using a pro-only radiant blush and highlighter on cheeks.
For that stunning eye look? A blend of creamy paint pot in Groundwork and a lip-mix was applied with a small brush in a rounded shaper across lids, extending above the crease right out towards the ends of brows.
Lips look natural and lush with a soft rosy tone applied by using a mix of lip conditioner and a pink hue from a Pro Face Palette.
A smooth side-parted hair look created by Richard Kavanagh for Redken perfectly complemented the chic insouciance of the look. A shiny, top section was brushed across the top of the head and tucked behind the opposite ear, transitioning into soft, yet polished waves at the ends.
