Kendall Jenner has landed US Vogue’s most coveted issue – the prestigious September edition – in a cover coup that’s sealed the deal on the reality TV star’s supermodel status.
Her achievement has been called a “rare feat” by Vanity Fair, as the model has pulled off two Vogue covers in the same year; one a special release issued in March to subscribers only, as well as this cover for the magazine’s most important trendsetting edition.
Jenner opened up in a profile for the magazine exploring her social media fame, as well as exploring Kendall’s life growing up as part of the famous Kardashian clan.
The magazine’s headline said it all: declaring we are now living in “Generation K” and has billed the issue as “Kendall Jenner: The face that launched a billion likes.”
While her sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were the first in the family to make the cover of US Vogue back in 2014, the couple were on the April issue, not the highly coveted September issue.
Making a stylish splash, the ‘It’ model sported a matador-inspired ensemble from Gucci and was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians-turned catwalk celebrity revealed her cover coup on social media: I F**KING DID IT. SEPTEMBER VOGUE. This is the coolest thing ever! can’t thank you enough Anna, for giving me the honor.”
The supermodel also posted a video to Instagram of her family congratulating her. While rehearsed, the fun piece shows the entire family (along with Ryan Seacrest) all ignoring her before surprising her mega achievement with a backyard celebration.
