With Clicquot in the Snow returning for 2019, we spoke to chef Josh Emett to get the inside scoop on how to visit Queenstown in style.
What are your go-to dinner spots?
I actually work most evenings I am in Queenstown, but when the family come with me we like to go to Sherwood or Akarua. I haven’t been yet but I’m really excited to try Aosta in Arrowtown!
Where’s the best place to head for a glass of wine?
Eichardt’s is always great.
For a cocktail?
The Lodge Bar or Bunker for a late night.
Where are the best views?
Skyline is pretty hard to beat for a view – which I know is on the Clicquot in the Snow agenda this year to do some stargazing, but it’s also great for the kids having a go on the luge as well during the day.
Your favourite brunch spot?
Vudu, Bespoke and Joe’s Garage.
Where’s your favourite place to stay?
I regularly stay at St Moritz as the service is always amazing. Peppers Beacon is great when travelling with the family as the rooms are a great size, and Millbrook is another good spot especially if you have time to relax or play some golf.
What’s your favourite low-key activity?
Walking Lake Hayes or driving to Glenorchy.
What’s the best takeaway, or snack on-the-go?
I always swing by Hawker & Roll for a hawker roll, although I might be biased as it is one of mine.
