British actress and style icon Jane Birkin stars in Saint Laurent’s latest Music Project campaign.
Her name is synonymous with fashion (the Hermès handbag she famously lent her name to is possibly the most sought-after accessory on the planet), but this is the first time Jane Birkin has starred in a high fashion campaign. Shot by creative director Hedi Slimane, the images depict her effortlessly cool French style (Birkin has lived in France since 1968) as she poses in the the house’s iconic ‘Le Smoking’ suit.
The campaign is part of the brand’s ongoing Music Project, which does not represent a certain season but instead highlights iconic musicians such as Courtney Love, Joni Mitchell, and Marianne Faithfull, who have all inspired Slimane’s past collections for the French fashion house.
