Because they’re not just a beautiful display piece. Ashley Bellino of Stoned Crystals explains how to correctly harness the inner power of your crystals.

Stevie Nicks, Alexa Chung, Miranda Kerr and Victoria Beckham all share a common love of crystals. And they’re not alone.

Gems are fast becoming a regular accessory in home decor due to the fact that they not only make beautiful display pieces but also contain healing properties embedded within.

Their balanced energy, which is emitted via vibrations, is helpful in dispelling stress, insomnia and other forms of negativity, all while propelling positive vibrations around your stone’s chosen intention such as love or friendship.

Having your crystals on display is all well and good, but to actually harness their power does take some level of skill as explained by Stoned Crystal’s Ashley Bellino in a recent interview with Vogue Australia.

To prepare your crystals for the positive energy you need to “cleanse crystals in salt water or pass them through incense to eliminate negative energy,” says Ashley. “Charge your crystal under the sun or moonlight to re-energise – the Full Moon for an extra kick! Then, activate your crystal by setting an intention for your stone.”

Finding the best place to display your crystals is also key according to Ashley, who recommends opting to place them by stress sources in your home such as computers or other forms of technology. Alternatively, a premium spot that acts as a constant reminder of your crystals intention also works well. Think windowsills, on top of a stack of books, or at your desk.

“Crystals, especially shaped crystals, not only look beautiful when styled but also offer us a natural and tactile distraction to negate stress and improve results,” says Ashley. “Every time you look at your stone, remember to be mindful and conscious that your thoughts and actions are in line with your intentions.”
