We tell you all about that flawless base and how you can get it too…
Autumnal eyes and glints of gold may have stolen the show on Fashion Quarterly’s ‘Love on the Run’ runway show at Auckland’s QT Hotel last week, but we also couldn’t help but notice the models’ flawless complexions. Scroll down to read more about how each look was created for the catwalk, and exactly how you can recreate it at home.
All About The Base:
Masters of make-up Guerlain took care of the beauty looks from the base up, starting with their Parure Gold 24k Base. As luxe as it sounds, the formulation does indeed have 24 karat gold incorporated in the formula and boasts 24-hour hydration. It’s also formulated with 98% naturally-derived ingredients and a texture that instantly unifies the skin making it lightweight and the perfect canvas for make-up. Next, they applied Guerlain’s Parure Gold Skin Foundation which also uses a hint of 24-karat gold as well as extracts of white peony to boost luminosity. What’s remarkable about the foundation is that it’s actually 85% skincare-based meaning it will be working all day to keep your skin hydrated, supple and radiant for every application.
The Eyes Have It:
Further interpreting the gold theme from the base, gold eyeshadow was used in the inner corners of the eye. Using shade two of the Ombres G Eyeshadow Quad #555 Metal Butterfly palette, the skilled make-up artists carefully placed this in the inner corner of the eye, bringing it outwards towards the crease, and in turn creating an eye opening effect. For the lid they used the pinky shade four of #555 Metal Butterfly to create a dreamy wash over the eyes, and to finish they applied Noir G 24H Intense Volume Curl Mascara.
Paying Lip Service:
Subtly tying in with the colour across the eyelid, KissKiss Bee Glow #319 in Peach Glow was used on the lips which gave the appearance of a natural lip – only better.
The Cheek Of It:
Again uses the versatility of the Ombres G Eyeshadow Quad in #555 Metal Butterfly palette, shade four was blended lightly into the contour of the cheekbone. As a final step the Météorites Compact Illuminating Powder was pressed into the high points of the face such as the cheekbone, forehead, chin and nose.
