“It’s all about the angle…”

Everyone knows Kourtney from Keeping Up With The Kardashians but did you know she’s the face of New Zealand skincare brand Manuka Doctor? Well, it turns out she’s obsessed with their products (and fair enough too) so we caught up with the reality star to find out more…

Miss FQ: How did the opportunity of being Manuka Doctor Ambassador come about?

Kourtney: “I have been using the Manuka Doctor honey brand for many years so when the brand asked me to be their global skincare ambassador I couldn’t have wished for a better partnership. As fans of my show have seen, I am an advocate of products that use natural ingredients. I am incredibly excited to have this opportunity to work with a brand I believe in and introduce it to people around the world.”

Who is your favourite make-up artist?

“I am lucky enough to work with so many incredibly talented makeup artists all the time and so many of them I consider friends. Mario Dedonavic, Patrick ta, Ariel Tejada are three of my favourites.”

What is your handbag beauty hero and why?

“The Manuka Doctor Lip Enhancer, as its both moisturising and lip plumping, I’ve always got one in my bag. I love when something can double as two things.”

Have you got any tips for achieving the perfect Instagram ready selfie?

“Lighting and angle are everything, and the Manuka Doctor Lip Enhancer for full pouting lips always helps!”

Can you tell us how to take the perfect selfie?

“It’s all about the lighting. If there’s a window with natural light, it’s great to stand in front of it. It’s all about the angle you take your selfie, so I like trying different angles. Take a bunch of photos and then you can pick the best one.”

What beauty advice would you give your 15 year old self?

“I used to try everything. If I was breaking out, I would use a mask and then a scrub and then another mask. I did way too much. Now I would tell myself to tone it down and keep it simple. My skin will break out once in a while from all the travel and wearing so much make-up during filing and at photoshoots.”

Have you always loved beauty products?

“Yes, my sister Kim and I went to an all-girls Catholic School in 7th and 8th grades, and we started wearing dark lipstick to school. Our teacher would get so mad.”

What are your favourite products?

“My favourite products are the Manuka Doctor Facial Oils – equally the Brightening and Replenishing Oil. I use it every night, and I’ve always used on my eyelids and under my eyes. Kim and I have always done that since like 7th grade. I also put it on my hands every night as my final thing because you shouldn’t neglect your hands. But, I just love it. I would say that’s my favourite, for sure. Sometimes I’ll put in on my body.”
