As Ivana Trump once said “Gorgeous hair is the best revenge”

FIVE PRODUCTS TO TRY:
Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Creme, $10. A multi-tasking treatment that moisturises, untangles and de-frizzes. Amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask, $40. Use as a weekly treatment or everyday conditioner. The molecules of this mask are able to penetrate into the cortex to seal split ends, improve shine and elasticity and deeply nourish.

Pureology Curl Complete Moisture Melt Masque, $52. For naturally curly hair, this vegan mask, with an anti-fade formula and coconut oil, helps restore hair after colour and the elasto-film helps reinvigorate curl in a controlled manner.

Joico K-Pak Leave-in Protectant, $32. This protects hair from environmental and thermal damage. It’s a foaming conditioner that also untangles and adds shine.

Malin + Goetz Intensive Hair Conditioner, $39. This five-minute conditioner-slash-mask contains protein and fatty acids to help dry, damaged and chemically processed hair including Brazilian straightened hair. From Mecca Cosmetica.

EVENING HAIR – UP AND DOWN:
Hair down: Kendall Jenner first sported this look, followed by her sister Kim Kardashian, and now it’s seen on runways too – the minimal-effort centre-part style, with the hair pushed behind the ears and falling down the back. Redken Global Style Director Guido shares how he created this look: “I used Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer, $36, and Redken Satinwear 02, $36, to get a frizz-free and smooth finish,” he says. “I then blow-dried the hair using a paddle brush and created a middle part. I sprayed Redken Iron Shape 11, $38, Thermal Protecting Spray on hair before using a flat iron to achieve that stick-straight sleekness. I finished with Redken Quick Dry 18, $36, Instant Finishing Spray.”

Hair Up: This Spanish-inspired updo, seen on the runway of Dolce & Gabbana, is perfect for summer. L’Oreal Professionnel stylist Wayne Richardson, from Ktizo Hair & Skin in Hamilton, tells us how to achieve this look:
Step One: Part the hair in the middle and pull back into a low ponytail. Secure with a hair tie.
Step Two: Lightly backcomb the ponytail to provide more body.
Step Three: Wrap and twist it anticlockwise in a pinwheel shape, into the base of the head as you go.
Step Four: Let flyaways hang out.
Step Five: Spray with a dry but strong hold spray such as L’Oreal Professionnel Infinium, $23.
Step Six: Pin in your accessory.

TOOL TIME:
Curly hair has never been easy but with the new ghd Curve range from hair tool innovators ghd, it can be. The four-strong product range features two wands and two tongs. If you want a tousled luxe look go for the soft curl tong and if you’re after irresistible Hollywood waves you should choose the classic wave wand. The creative curl wand will help you achieve a beachy style and the classic curl tong will give you lasting, consistent curls. $260 each
