Georgia Fowler to host Project Runway New Zealand

Just one more reason we’ll be avidly watching Project Runway New Zealand.

Arguably New Zealand’s hottest modelling commodity right now, Georgia Fowler has been confirmed as the host and head judge of the upcoming Project Runway New Zealand.

The 25-year-old will return to her native New Zealand in 2018 to front the reality TV series, following in the footsteps of fellow Victoria’s Secret model and Project Runway US host Heidi Klum.

Says Georgia: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to be coming home to be part of the very first season of Project Runway New Zealand.

“To help launch the career of a Kiwi designer, while giving people a glimpse into the world of fashion, is beyond exciting. Haere Ra, New York – and see you soon, Auckland!”

Georgia, a former Fashion Quarterly cover star, has catapulted to international stardom in recent years, with her breakthrough moment coming in 2012 when she was cast by Karl Lagerfeld to walk in the Chanel show in Versailles. In 2017, she walked for the second time in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, becoming only the second Kiwi to do so (after Stella Maxwell).

Project Runway New Zealand will see local fashion designers compete weekly in a series of challenges before a panel of judges, with one designer ultimately coming out on top.

The New Zealand version of show will air on TV2 later in 2018.
