Hold onto your embellished jackets ladies and gentlemen, images of the Balmain x H&M collection have surfaced ahead of their official 19 October press release date – all thanks to a Chicago woman who unwittingly ‘hacked’ into H&M’s site.
Kathryn Swartz Rees stumbled onto the images during an online shopping hunt, explaining to The Cut: “The real story is terribly unexciting. H&M’s site was indexed by Google and I happened to search at the right time using the right parameters. All images were taken from that H&M URL. No surprise, that site is no longer live. A good note to web development teams working on super hot designer collaborations: stay in your sandbox.”
Swartz Rees, who apparently has no connections to the fashion industry, posted 99 product images to her Instagram account on the 6 October, giving the world a first look at the full collection other than the officially-released campaign images featuring Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Jourdan Dunn (see images in gallery above).
The collection comprises of embellished jackets, sequin dresses, jogger pants and statement accessories, including some eye-catching boots and clutches. There is also menswear, jewellery and some amazing-looking outerwear. It is due for worldwide release on 5 November.

H&M recently confirmed they will be opening the first New Zealand store in 2016, meaning Kiwi fans of Balmain and its creative director, Olivier Rousting, will unfortunately miss out on shopping this collection.
