Here’s where to get the best egg-based brunch in Auckland

From mouth-watering Middle East-inspired eggs to dainty soufflés and moreish omelettes, we all crave a brunch centred around the humble egg every now and then. But finding the perfect spot that fulfils just what we’re after at any given moment, can sometimes be tricky.

In order to help curb that craving, we’ve rounded up the six best places in Auckland to head to stat, whether you desire yours poached, scrambled, fried or hard boiled.

Breakfast in Turkey from Deco Eatery
In keeping with owner Alex Isik’s ancestry, the menu here has a strong Turkish influence. The Breakfast in Turkey is a great example of this, with scrambled eggs accompanied by feta, Turkish pide and some of New Zealand’s finest produce, including mānuka honey and locally-grown Kalamata olives.

Soufflé from Rosie
Situated next to the Parnell Rose Gardens, Rosie – like all Hipgroup outfits – is committed to sourcing the freshest ingredients from the group’s Kumeu farm. That means the menu changes often. Fingers crossed that the twice-baked soufflé with asparagus, black garlic and a decadent cured egg yolk is on offer when you visit.

Turkish eggs from Queenies
Queenies is a Ponsonby institution, all ivy-covered and positioned just out of the hustle and bustle of the main strip. Their Turkish eggs served with baba ganoush, yoghurt and chilli butter are a great way to enjoy your morning poachers with a twist.
