New emojis are being released and they’ll change your keyboard game forever

5 July 2017

If you thought you were emoji-obsessed already, just you wait for this 2017 update

Ever scroll through your emoji pages on your message app trying to find the perfect symbol to explain your feels but just can’t find the one? When you have so many options to accompany your “let’s do lunch” message, but none of the available options quite fill the void of a missing sandwich emoji? We get it, the struggle is real.

Well thankfully, Unicode (the genius behind our favourite mini illustrated images) has recognised these holes in our go-to symbol board and has answered our interactive prayers by introducing a game changer: they’ll be releasing a suite of new emojis as soon as July.

Yep, you heard right, new emojis are coming and we can’t contain our excitement.

With the introduction of as many as 56 symbols, iPhone and android users will be provided with new options to spice up their interactions and add that extra finishing touch to their social media pages. Yep, reeling in those extra likes with perfect captions accompanied by a cute and totes appropriate emoji is about to be taken to the next level, people!

With a mermaid, genie in a bottle, brain, fairy and a classic kiwi foodie icon: the pie, being introduced (among many more fun and fresh symbols), you better prepare for your emoji keyboard game to be stronger than ever.

With the Unicode update set to be released this month, we’re ready and will be waiting impatiently in anticipation.

In no time, we’ll be wondering how we ever survived without this delicious new bacon-featuring update.
