The Met Gala – otherwise known as the Costume Institute Gala – is the event which takes place on the first Monday in May celebrating the premiere of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual exhibition. For 2018, the theme of Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination drew on the influence that religion and liturgy have had on fashion and clothing to date.
The theme invites designers and celebrity guests to develop their most decadent – or should we say divine – interpretations requiring preparation and development that surpasses any other event in the calendar. In other words, what the celebrities don on the red carpet is a spectacle unlike no other.
