Calling all Kate Spade fans: The New York based fashion brand has opened the doors to its first New Zealand store.
Following on from successful store openings in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in 2014, the colourful label turned their attention to the New Zealand market and this month opened a boutique within Auckland’s T Galleria by DFS.
Fashion Quarterly was thrilled to partner with the brand for the official opening party where invited guests and FQ readers sipped Moët champagne and shopped the brand’s vivid handbag collections (see a selection of photos in our gallery, above).
Kate Spade was founded in 1993 when its namesake founder decided she couldn’t find her perfect handbag so decided to design it herself. Twenty years later and the label is as popular as ever – we expect not only due to their striking designs, but the quirky-cute advertising campaigns, which have featured the likes of Anna Kendrick, Karlie Kloss and Iris Apfel.
Auckland’s boutique will stock a selection of handbags in a mixture of colourful brights (think magenta, cobalt blue and spearmint green) and classic neutrals, as well as a collection of jewellery.
