Whether your wedding goal is to break from the norm or to not break the bank, there are alternative wedding dress options aplenty (that still look bridal).

When it comes to deciding which dress to wear down the aisle, no two brides are the same, and nor are their visions, aspirations, budget, and deciding counsels (let’s raise a glass to the mother-of-the-bride, the mothers-in-law-to-be and the envious and/or opinionated best friends).

Some brides are the height of extravagance having picked which style of dress they’ll wear since the tender age of eleven. Others are more simple, more relaxed, and happy to wear whatever — so long as it fits. And of course, there are the brides in between who want to look ethereal and elegant without overdoing it.

Not too dissimilar to the changing trends in engagement rings (with couples opting for more unique and slightly unconventional options), brides are feeling increasingly confident in choosing non-traditional wedding dresses, or dresses that aren’t bridal at all, to make way for other priorities. And why not? It’s their big day, after all.

Whether you’re a modern minimalist seeking refined sophistication or a romantic at heart who thinks no embellishment is ‘too much’, there are so many options for a non-traditional bride.
