Neons and neutrals were everywhere at Milan Fashion Week

1 October 2018

Equally as striking when worn together or standalone, this was a street style display like no other.

Italy’s fashion and design capital is renown for being at the thematic and opulent end of the style spectrum parading bright colours, clashing patterns and graphic logos long before the western world can stomach it.

With, dare we say it, ‘pops of colour’ and unconventional silhouettes now considered the norm, evidently seen in London, New York and even Copenhagen street style (signatures that once belonged to Milan), the city has been forced to evolve its fashion identity through other means resulting in a distinctive divide this year. Guests went one of two ways: those who opted for colour took it to its extremity sporting bright neon and highlighter pinks, oranges, greens and yellows, while others proved that it’s possible to turn heads wearing neutrals  – with a twist. Whichever team you support, we’ll let the gallery do the talking on how you should be wearing it this season…
