Let’s raise a toast to a night lived boldly feat. Revlon makeup stations, Moët & Chandon on tap, poppin’ popcorn, Nashville-style fried chicken and a whole lot of New Zealanders doing great things.
Okay, so the Moët & Chandon wasn’t literally on tap, but flow the champagne did – and in great company! The second annual Miss FQ Influence Awards returned bigger and bolder than ever thanks to our principal sponsor Revlon.
Back in July, we asked you to nominate New Zealanders doing amazing (and yes, influential!) things, both on and off the ‘gram in the fields of Fashion, Beauty, Travel, Social Change, Business & Tech, Health & Wellness, and Up & Comer. It certainly wasn’t an easy task narrowing it down to just five finalists per category (not a bad problem to have, LBH), before turning it back over to you to vote for your favourites and identifying the Miss FQ Revlon Influence winners for 2018.
Held at The White Room at the Swan Hotel in Parnell, the space was completely transformed with beautiful floral instalments – thanks to Sarah Jane Kavali and Kelly Karam – and plenty of people dressed to the nines living boldly to the bangin’ tunes by DJ Andy Day. Guests had their lips touched up by makeup artists from Revlon (you know, after throwing back delicious chicken burgers fried Nashville-style by Peach’s Hot Chicken) before getting their pictures snapped in the American Airlines departures display. They say dreams are free, right? But for our travel category winner Ash Owens, plus our lucky voter drawn at random, their dreams of flying return to LA will actually come true thanks to our partner American Airlines *sigh*.
And if that wasn’t enough to drain data keeping up with all of the ‘grammable moments, guests went home with Revlon lippies in pocket, travel-sized sunscreen c/o American Airlines (who else?), preview copies of Miss FQ under their arms and branded doughnuts in hand – which we hear went down an absolute treat!
