Lady Charlotte Wellesley weds in Emilia Wickstead gown

Lady Charlotte Wellesley marries in Emilia Wickstead wedding dress

30 May 2016

The aristocratic wedding of the year.

Lady Charlotte Wellesley, daughter of the Duke of Wellington and Princess Antonia of Prussia (a direct descendant of Queen Victoria), married her own Prince Charming – American-Colombian businessman Alejandro Santo Domingo – in a lavish affair over the weekend.

The 25-year-old bride chose none other than NZ-born designer Emilia Wickstead for her big day, and the gorgeous cream off-the-shoulder gown with veil proved an elegant choice, despite the initial tussle in the wind upon arriving at the church.

London-based fashion designer Emilia was among a who’s who on the star-studded guestlist, which also included Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; the former King of Spain Juan Carlos I; and Andrea Casiraghi, son of Caroline, Princess of Hanover and the nephew of Prince Albert II of Monaco. Casiraghi is married to Alejandro’s niece Tatiana Santo Domingo.

Incidentally, Tatiana’s father is married to fashion royalty – Vogue contributing editor, Moda Operandi founder and street style star Lauren Santo Domingo. Other celebrity guests included model Eva Herzigova and singer James Blunt, who is married to Lady Charlotte’s cousin, Sofia Wellesley.
