When an on-screen romance turns into an off-screen wedding…

Rose Leslie and Kit Harington – beloved stars from HBO hit series Game of Thrones – have fans worldwide buzzing following their Scotland wedding which took place at Rayne Church in Kirkton on Rayne on 23 June 2018.  The couple met on set of the drama fantasy and played on-screen lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte.

Among guests at their wedding were fellow cast members Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke.

Following the ceremony, guests showered the newlyweds with flower petal confetti before they got into an old Land Rover decorated with paper hearts and tin cans as they drove to the reception at nearby Wardhill Castle. Rose wore a long, flowing ivory lace dress and veil while Kit opted for a morning suit. According to the BBC, the reception was held in the grounds of Wardhill Castle, which is owned by the actress’s father, Seb Leslie.

Kit told L’Uomo Vogue it was “easy” to fall in love with his co-star, citing the three weeks the stars filmed in Iceland during season two as his best memory *sigh*.

“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” he recalled. “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
