KAIA GERBER AND MILLIE BOBBY BROWN MAKE TIME’S MOST INFLUENTIAL TEENS LIST BECAUSE OF COURSE THEY DID.

WARNING: Self-remorse may be experienced after reading about these amazing teens.

Though not as well known as the TIME 100 list, the annual TIME 30 Most Influential Teens list carries the esteem of the distinguished magazine recognising which young stars have been forging their way in the world, be it through global impact or social media.

As the power and positive change generated from networking channels gain prominence, so does the number of teens chosen. Rewind back to 2013 when homegrown songstress Lorde picked up a spot following the launch of her debut album, Pure Heroine – the then 17-year-old was only one of 16 most influential teens.

This year, the list has grown to 30. Scroll for our favourites below:

Millie Bobby Brown

Youngest on the list and totally topical right now is 13-year-old Millie Bobby Brown; the Emmy-nominated Stranger Things star has captivated the world one Netflix subscription at a time. Not to mention the influx of Halloween costumes and the general media frenzy inspired by her role as Eleven in the hit series.

Yara Shahidi

On the note of acting, TIME‘s list goes on to acknowledge Black-ish star Yara Shahidi not just for slaying it on the ‘gram, but for being fearless in making her political presence known. Regularly firing shots at Donald Trump, Shahidi’s approach goes beyond standard outspokenness and instead tackles Trump’s prejudice in an inspiring and eloquent manner, scoring her tons of followers.

The Smith sibling duo

Addressing the topic of gender politics has seen sibling-duo Willow and Jaden Smith appear on the list proving that there’s more to them than music.

Kaia Gerber

Our current favourite fashion babe Kaia Gerber, who unquestionably stunned on the catwalks during the Spring/Summer ’18 collections, made the list for her efforts.  The 16-year-old daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford has without a doubt had a leg up in the industry, but her flawless performance for a multitude of designers was no small feat.
