Glamorous friends from near and far turned out in force to support Karl Lagerfeld at the opening of Chanel’s Mademoiselle Prive exhibition at London’s Saatchi Gallery.
Those friends included long term muses Vanessa Paradis and Julianne Moore; previous ambassadors of the brand Cara Delevingne, Lily Allen and Alice Dellal; and a new generation of Karl’s favourites, such as Lily-Rose Depp and Lily Collins. Lucky invitees mingled with muses within the three-floor exhibition space, where black-and-white portraits of the women of the hour lined the walls.
A black and white dress code was the order of the day – whether by accident or not – with most guests adopting monochrome looks that were so appropriately Chanel.
As well as presenting a history of Chanel Haute Couture and the story of famous fragrance Chanel No5, the exhibition will showcase the newly-reissued ‘Bijoux de Diamants’ jewellery collection, the first and only fine jewellery collection designed by founder Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel in 1932, which was unveiled at July’s Casino-themed autumn/winter 2015 couture show.
