How to wear Pantone’s colour of the year as an eyeliner or eyeshadow

8 January 2020

When announcing it’s yearly prediction for the colour that would be key in 2020, Pantone’s statement called its 2020 Colour of the Year, Classic Blue, ‘elegant in its simplicity’.

“Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era,” the announcement proclaimed.

Following months of bold colours making waves in the makeup world, we kind of agree. While the colour is chosen as an indicator of a shade that will be influential across a wide number of industries including fashion and interiors, it’s also an indicator it will be trending in the beauty world as well.

When worn as a makeup colour, Classic Blue is dramatic enough to be head turning, but works best when applied in a minimalist manner.

We’ve found all the best products to get the jump on what is sure to be a go-to hue in the coming year.
