What was the theme/idea behind your hen’s party?

What did you wear and where was it from?

I wore a vintage ’90s Versace mini-dress (not sure what exact collection), my friends bought it for me online (without me knowing).

Where did you get ready for your hen’s do, and who were you with?

At my house, my mother and some out of town friends stayed and the friends who organised my hen’s, Fliss, Margie, Paris and Georgia came over and we all got ready together.

Where did you receive your guests and what did you do?

I feel like I was the guest! I wasn’t told the location, we just got Ubers from my house and as we got closer to Parnell I realised we were going to NSP. When we arrived I saw all my friends dressed in the most amazing Versace outfits! We had Aperol Spritz, Rose, Pinot Grigio and two courses of amazing Italian antipasti, pasta and salads.

Who did you invite?

LOTS of friends. My mother, and my fiance Ollie’s mother. There were about 30 of us.

Were you involved in the planning of the day, or was it all a surprise?

I did absolutely nothing. I gave no brief, except that I didn’t want to be a hen! No sashes, no penis straws, no games or quizzes about how well I know Ollie.

The ’90s Versace theme was such a surprise. The girls turned up at my house with a dress for me to wear, did my makeup ’90s-style (lip liner and all), and all the girls made such an incredible effort with their interpretations. I trust my friends and they totally nailed it!

What would be your advice for future hen’s who want to enjoy their day?

Trust your friends and their knowledge of you. Go with the flow and enjoy yourself – everyone is there for you and they all want you to have an amazing time. Introduce old and new friends. Don’t think that the mothers don’t want to party – they do! Eat something before you party.

Did you have any rules for the day – things you wanted, or didn’t want, to happen?

No strippers. Lots of drinks.

What was your favourite part of the hen’s do?

Hard to say, I loved every minute. Arriving and seeing everyone’s incredible outfits, and realising they were all there for me.

The most surprising?

Seeing the dress the girls got me! Firstly, the size and colour. It was so tiny I thought it was a top, and the colour was two-tone purple – and it was actually vintage Versace.

What were your accessories?

Some very faux Versace jewellery. Big hair with Versace hair slides, Versace earrings and my wedding shoes! Miu Miu Velvet platform sandals – it was a good chance to break them in, and they went the distance.

What did you do afterwards?

After lunch we were off to another secret location, my friend Margie’s house where there was a bartender (the divine Eva from Annabel’s) serving gin cocktails, a huge MOLLY (Milly and Ollie combined; it’s a silly joke). Plus gold balloons and a massive piece of leopard print silk adorning the sofa; we partied until 3am.
