This morning we woke up to the devastating news that iconic American singer Prince was found dead in his home in Minneapolis, passing away at the age of 57.

A musical legend, Prince received seven Grammy Awards from 32 nominations throughout his career and landed his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 in 1984 with Purple Rain. Other prolific albums from the star include 1999, Around The World in a Day, Sign O The Times and Batman. The singer released 39 solo studio albums across his 35-plus-year career under various pseudonyms and was renowned not only for this musicianship, but for his trailblazing and eclectic style.

Here we celebrate some of his stand-out style moments, from 1984 to 2016.
