Yet in a world of digital photography and airbrushed perfection, French artist Sarah Moon goes against the grain. Since rising to prominence in the 1970s, the ex-model’s unorthodox view of beauty has continued to influence the worlds of art and fashion. It’s Moon’s abstract and almost painterly approach to her subjects that has inspired François Nars’ latest artist collaboration.
The six-piece Nars x Sarah Moon makeup collection is inspired by the 1927 science fiction film Metropolis and features imagery shot especially for the packaging by Moon herself. With a rich and romantic colour palette of smoky nudes, peaches and deep berry shades, the range is here just in time for the party season.
