How to wear: Clashing patterns

25 November 2016

Pair striking prints with painterly patterns for a look that’s all your own

As an OTT alternative to monochrome, try pairing a print with leopard. Finish your outfit with an animal-print belt, bag or pair of shoes, but remember, the devil is in the details. Think about coordinating your hardware (belt buckles, zips and the like) across your ensemble – this element of uniformity will be the cherry on top.

Unsure about colourful clashing? Pare back your rainbow-hued pieces with a printed monochrome and anchor the look with block-coloured accessories. Otherwise, clash top-to-toe, as seen at Gucci above, but include a common shade in each piece to tie the look together.
