In its 71st year, the film festival once again pulls out all the stops when it comes to style.
Set amidst the backdrop of the French Riveria, the Cannes Film Festival has become one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world due to its glamorous events and dazzling red carpet. Actors and actresses mingle with a selection of producers, directors and top supermodels to celebrate film premieres as well as see some receive a highly coveted Cannes award.
This year, key moments included a screening of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Alexander Wang’s collaboration with Magnum, Kirsten Stewart removing her Louboutins on the red carpet and 82 women walking the red carpet in silent protest against gender discrimination in the film industry. Style standouts included Bella Hadid who had multiple sartorial moments on and off the red carpet. Cate Blanchett, as the Cannes jury president, also donned a range of captivating gowns, while in general naked dresses and feather and bead detailing remained very much in vogue.
