Calvin Klein just unveiled something major

24 January 2017

Since the announcement of Raf Simons’ posting at Calvin Klein, the release of his first collection for the brand has been one of the most anticipated in fashion.

And then, about 24 hours ago, Calvin Klein began releasing the first communication around Simons’ collection—and it’s all made to measure. The first lot of images released for Calvin Klein By Appointment feature Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, actress/model Abbey Lee Kershaw and models Lineisy Montero, Kiki Willems, Natalie Westling, Selena Forrest and Tessa Bruinsma.

“A new departure for Calvin Klein: The NYC atelier’s celebrity by-appointment service becomes an individual line,” was the announcement released by the brand across social media, and consists of 14 looks “presented in the photographic tradition of Calvin Klein: Utilizing billboards, newspapers and the Internet.”

While the brand is well known for its casualwear, the modern couture lines Raf Simons has become famous for will bode well in Calvin Klein’s new service, which offers “a full range of handcrafting skills from embroidery to tailoring” as “a tribute to the Calvin Klein atelier.” As for the ready-to-wear designs by Simons, we’ll have to wait until February 10 when Calvin Klein’s Fall 2017 collection shows at New York Fashion Week.
