The beauty lowdown: WTF are cushion foundations?

1 December 2016

What are cushion foundations and why are they a thing?

A cushion foundation is essentially a fluid foundation or liquid BB/CC cream that saturates a sponge which sits in a convenient, easy-to-carry, compact – perfect for subtle, daily touch ups. Included in this little game-changer is often an additional applicator which means you won’t have to use your fingers either!

The popularity of cushion foundations began in South Korea. The patting application provides a weightless yet buildable flawless base (read: not cake-y at all!) and they also tend to be dewy in finish so if you’re more partial to a matte or satin formula you might not love cushion foundations as much.
