From dewy complexions, bejewelled satin robes and supermodel smize, we compile our favourite moments from backstage at the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The makeup
Thought that the VS models woke up like this? We did too. Turns out, this healthy, dewy, glowing effortless perfection requires time and tonne of Charlotte Tilbury products. The British makeup artist and contributing beauty editor for British Vogue tasked with transforming 60 models for camera action took inspiration for this year’s makeup look from the OG Victoria’s Secret Angel, Gisele Bunchden, describing it as a “healthy, happy, naturally flawless beauty look.” –Sign us up!
“She embodies that signature fresh, glowing angel gorgeousness,” Tilbury says. “I also wanted the makeup [to] channel that Victoria’s Secret feeling! Victoria’s Secret is all about pure fun, joy and abandon! It is a world of confidence, glamour, sexiness, power and magic that we all sail off to for the night! Whether you are watching it at home, or front row – everyone gets lost in the hypnotizing allure of the angels.”
If you tuned into social media at the time of filming, you’d have noticed the widespread use of Tilbury’s Instant Magic Dry Sheet Facial Mask to get the prep underway. Using Charlotte’s Magic Cream, Magic Eye Rescue and WonderGlow primer, the models were fresh-face fit for making up. Tilbury used Magic Away Concealer and Hollywood Flawless Filter to blur any imperfections before getting stuck in on the contouring. As for the lip tint? Straight off Victoria’s Secret shelves.

The hair
Rather than pursue a uniform hair look for the 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, celebrity hairstylist Anthony Turner wanted to keep hair as natural as possible. “We’re celebrating each girl for who she is,” Turner said.
To create this look, Turner prepped damp hair with volumizing mousse and serum oil before blowdrying sans hairbrushes. Keeping hair smooth and flat at the roots, Turner reached for the Infiniti PRO by Conair 2-in-1 Black Titanium Styler to drop in curls half-way down the hair.
According to Elle, the finishing touch for the models to get them in the mood was a spritz of the latest fragrance from the lingerie giant: Victoria’s Secret Love Star EDP. Curious as to what a love star smells like? Think a mixture of rosegold apple, white lily, and dark rum. In other words, it sounds like it would go well poured over ice in a highball glass. (Yum!)
