Arguably one of this year’s most memorable celebrity breakups, The Weeknd (real name, Abel Tesfaye) and Selena Gomez called it quits on their 10-month relationship in late October. Very soon after their split, they were both papped hanging out with their respective exes, and the rumour mill was in overdrive with Abel/Bella and Justin/Selena re-runs. Whether or not this is true, we do know that over their 10-month relationship Abel and Selena provided us with some serious couple fashion goals – in particular this iconic moment from the Met Gala.

Amber Davies and Kim Cetinay
If you say you didn’t binge-watch Love Island religiously this year then you are either lying or have brilliant self-control. Only a few months after leaving the Villa, Love Island winners Kem and Amber announced their split. The couple cited their ‘busy schedules’ as the reason for the break-up, however we still have our fingers crossed these two might come back together sometime soon – we can’t let those matching bracelets go to waste!

Anna Faris and Chris Pratt
This was a breakup that really hit us hard. The king and queen of comedy announced the end of their eight-year marriage in August. In a statement the couple said they wanted their split to be as private as possible for the sake of their four-year-old son Jack, however sources cited family and career differences, along with the Jennifer Lawrence cheating rumours, as reasons for their break-up.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel
While they seemed like an odd pairing at the beginning, Fergie and Josh Duhamel served up serious couple goals throughout their eight years of marriage – including their adorable four-year-old son Axl! Although they announced their split in September, according to sources they are still very good friends and are committed to being successful co-parents.

Viarni Bright and Zac Franich
Only five months after the finale of The Bachelor aired, Zac Franich and Viarni Bright announced on Instagram that they were going their separate ways. Franich wrote that “in life, some things just aren’t meant to be.. Recently we both decided to continue our relationship just as friends. We’ll always share a lot of mutual love and respect, but felt we just weren’t quite right for each other. It’s not something we took lightly & it’s really tough for the both of us.”

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen
These two are like that couple you love but also at times forget even exists – which somehow makes their breakup all the more heartbreaking. After being together for ten years, and having a daughter in 2014, they called it quits in September this year.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
The couple responsible for those nude paddle-boarding photos, their ten month relationship came to an end in March this year. However, they have supposedly remained friends, with Bloom telling Elle UK that “We’re friends, it’s good. We’re all grown up.”

Kylie Jenner and Tyga
The on-again, off-again couple seemed to have entered a permanent off patch around April this year. While many thought they would get back together, rumours started circling that Kylie is pregnant with new boyfriend Travis Scott’s baby. The Kardashian-Jenner clan are yet to confirm or deny this, but it does signal that maybe “Kyga” is off for good.

Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian
Another Kardashian-Jenner relationship that is particularly difficult to keep up with, Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna supposedly split in February this year – not long after the birth of their daughter, Dream. While it seemed amicable at first, Rob took to social media in July sharing explicit photos of Chyna, and a series of text conversations, claiming that she had been cheating on him and neglecting their daughter. In response, Chyna got multiple restraining orders against Rob, and while they seemed to be making peace in September, a new legal battle has recently broken out, with Rob and Kylie suing Chyna for assault. This is one messy relationship.

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill
Nicki Minaj tweeted in January saying “To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work and looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year.” The rapper who wrote a song about her before they even got together claimed that his break-up with Nicki was a “loss”.
